Brian,
Interested to see the results.
At a guess – DreamPress (by DreamHost) & SiteGround will be pretty fast. As will A2 hosting (but I think they get a bunch of errors – based on a recent ReviewSignal test).
Have you tried WPX Hosting? They do managed WordPress hosting & it’s really quick – I use them for a few of my sites.
A bunch of the biggest managed hosts don’t seem to be included here. E.g. WP Engine etc but I’m not a fan of how they price their plans. The whole “monthly unique visitors but we reset what we consider to be a unique visitor every 24 hours” is a ridiculous pricing model & gets expensive fast.

P.S – Seems to be an issue with your comment captcha. When I first submitted this comment, the entire comment was deleted and I was presented with an ‘Error: incorrect or empty reCAPTCHA response’ – but the captcha didn’t show first.
Hey Adam,
It’s great to see you 🙂
Currently, I am really behind because I am trying to record the results and show the method behind my testing.
Base on my experience with the providers mentioned I’m pretty sure SiteGround will take #1 but we’ll see.
You are the second person to mention WPX Hosting to me. I have to check them out now to see what the buzz is about. There are loads more hosting providers to be included. But with most things, I take a Wikipedia approach in the sense that it always improve and gets better.
Thanks also for pointing out the reCAPTCHA issue currently looking into it.
P.S. feel free to reach out if ever you want to collaborate.
Nice info, thanks for review bro!
You are most welcome, don’t forget to cast your votes 🙂
